I’m revisiting Reena and Rahul’s wedding from 2018 because I just love the pictures. It was a two-day event with a Sangeet the night before the wedding. They held the Sangeet at the JW Marriot in Austin, and it was so much fun! I loved it because there was so much energy, and the dancing was absolutely contagious. There was so much laughter and connection. The next day was the Villa Del Lago wedding, and it was somehow even more amazing.
An Exciting Baraat
One of my favorite parts of the wedding day was the Baraat! It was such a thrill to photograph the groom coming out on a horse. All the guests were yelling, dancing, and singing at the top of their lungs. The groom even came down off the horse to dance with everyone! It was like a hundred degrees outside, and all the guests danced like it was seventy-two. I was absolutely drenched by the time we made it inside, but it was totally worth it!
Villa Del Lago Wedding
The Villa Del Lago is currently closed, but it’s an absolutely beautiful venue. It’s a private waterfront estate next to Lake Travis, about twenty minutes from Austin. It has great views and tons of different places for photos. We were able to get some amazing shots. I also took my drone at the groom’s request. The layout of the venue itself perfectly fit the situation. I was able to capture the couple walking down the road in front of the venue.
I also want to give a shout-out to Jennifer Seals. She was Reena and Rahul’s wedding planner, and she’s one of my favorite people. I even shot her sister-in-law’s destination wedding. She did such an amazing job with this wedding!
