As Claire & Michael’s wedding approached we could not have been more excited! We had really hit it off with them at their engagement session, and knew that with their amazing personalities and great sense of style, their wedding would truly be something to remember. And was it ever.
We had the pleasure of attending their rehearsal dinner, held on the top floor of the Napolean House. With a throwback flapper girl style, feathers in the girls hair and an old school jazz band with one of those beautiful silver microphones, we swore we had stepped back in time and were in a 1920’s swing club. It was also the first night Michael introduced me to the “Sazerac,” the official drink of New Orleans. If you had not had one of these, it’s time.
The next day could not have been more perfect. With a professional shave for Michael and a New Orleans jazz band playing right outside Claire’s window everything just felt so authentic. Even when the bus ran late to pick up Claire and her bridesmaids for the wedding, they decided to walk to the venue instead, which not only made it fun for the people in the streets hollering at the ladies, but gave Sarah and I the opportunity to take some of our favorite shots of the day! The ceremony took place in a beautiful courtyard at Cafe Amelie, and then dinner and the party began. Perfectly finished with a second line parade to the Moonwalk, Claire & Michael led all their guests to a surprise by a fireworks show over the water. Jackson square behind us, water in front, and fireworks above, with everyone dancing to the sound of trombones and tubas, the only thing that could be better is the company of wonderful friends. Lucky for us, we had that with Claire and Michael and their amazing family and friends. What a night!
We cannot thank you two enough for putting your trust in us. What an honor to be a part of the festivities! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
