Ray and Melissa met at a birthday party for a mutual friend from their local Crossfit gym. Melissa had seen (shirtless) pictures of him on their Facebook page, and she was feeling bold that night. She went up to him and said, “I think I’ve seen you without your shirt on,” and they haven’t stopped talking since. The couple got married at The Clubhouse at Baywood Greens, and their wedding was so much fun! I love when couples have unique stories of how they met.
The Clubhouse at Baywood Greens Wedding
Ray and Melissa first heard about Baywood at a local wedding fair. They went and toured a different venue first, but it just wasn’t what they were looking for. Melissa’s sister-in-law recommended a drive out to Baywood to check out The Clubhouse at Baywood Greens. They fell in love with the venue. It was beautiful and had a great team. It just felt right to them! This venue has a gorgeous lakeside ceremony space, that made the perfect backdrop for their wedding. I love venues that have indoor and outdoor spaces since it gives us plenty of options for pictures. Plus, you have a built-in rain backup plan! They also have all-inclusive packages, so you can use their in-house catering and florist team.
Including Friends and Family
Family and friends are so important to Ray and Melissa. They wanted to make sure that they included them as much as possible. A very old friend of Melissa’s served as the officiant. They also included their friend’s daughter by making her the flower girl. Their niece read a passage from First Corinthians while their nephew was the ring bearer. Ray wanted his nephew to be his twin, so they both wore pink bow ties. Such a great touch! They also kept Ray’s grandmother’s dominoes set at their sweetheart table. It’s little touches like these that really make each wedding so unique.
Their main focus was making sure everyone had an incredible time, and they definitely succeeded! Their wedding at The Clubhouse at Baywood Greens was a blast, and I’m so glad that I was able to shoot it.
